What does agreeing with others in prayer have to do with our prayers? Why do you think God values corporate prayers? Read Psalm 40:1. Why is it essential that we be patient when we pray? Read Romans 8:26-27. What roles does the Holy Spirit play in our prayers? How does the Holy Spirit help us to pray according to the Will of God? Read John 15:5. How does remaining in Jesus help us to understand what prayer is? How do we remain in Jesus? Why is it fruitless to try to find the secret recipe of prayer? Respond to Mother Teresa’s quotation. “Prayer is not asking. Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God, at His disposition, and listening to His voice in the depths of our hearts.” Respond to Elisabeth Eliot’s quotation. “Prayer lays hold of God’s plan and becomes the link between His will and its accomplishments on earth.” Eliot adds: “… we are given the privilege of being the channels of the Holy Spirit’s prayer.” What do you think she means by that?
